Because active and involved communities are essential to vibrant parks and neighborhoods and to a healthy city, Partnerships for Parks supports New Yorkers who want to work together to make neighborhood parks thrive.
We strengthen a diverse, growing network of dedicated park volunteers and groups by creating opportunities for them to celebrate their parks and accomplishments, access resources, become more effective leaders in their communities, and work with government to affect decisions about their parks.

New York City parks reflect the character of a neighborhood — they can raise it up or pull it down; they can provide solace from urban stress or intensify an image of urban decay. Through our work, Partnerships for Parks has shown how people who invest in parks not only improve their communities, they also serve as valuable models to inspire people in other neighborhoods and cities.
Our work fosters a culture of collaboration among people and government that supports parks as vital centers of community life.
